The Colorado Aves in Colorado Springs

In the world of hockey, the Stadium Series stands out among the rest. For starters, it’s the youngest outdoor series in the league, but it has also had the most teams participate. The series is also held in football or baseball stadiums in February or March, and this February, the series is coming to Colorado Springs. The game is set to pit the Colorado Avalanche against the Los Angeles Kings at the U.S. Air Force Academy’s Falcon Stadium, making the February 15th game the second Stadium Series hosted by a military academy. The Colorado Avalanche hosted the series once before at Coors Field and lost out to the visiting Detroit Red Wings. But this year, spirits are high and the team is looking forward to a snowy game. Olympic City’s Newest Induction

Like the newest inductees into the United States Paralympic Hall of Fame—from the 14-time gold medal winner Erin Popovich to the "Father of Accessibility" Tim Nugent—2020 marks a new addition to Colorado Springs’ Olympic track record: The United States Olympic & Paralympic Museum. Set to open in early 2020, the museum will include exhibits such as Olympic torches from Atlanta, Sydney, Sochi and more, the scoreboard from the Miracle on Ice hockey game in Lake Placid, and will host summer arts workshops in the spirit of legendary painter LeRoy Neiman and his historical contribution to the arts through his Olympic paintings. While the final panels are placed on the new construction, catch up on Olympic and Paralympic history through the online digital museum. As we prepare for this momentous event, we’re also celebrating a new induction for the city of Colorado Springs— whose role as host to more than 10,000 training athletes, the US Olympic Committee’s headquarters, and 23 Olympic National Governing Bodies of Sport has earned it the title of Olympic City USA!
