The Colorado Aves in Colorado Springs

In the world of hockey, the Stadium Series stands out among the rest. For starters, it’s the youngest outdoor series in the league, but it has also had the most teams participate. The series is also held in football or baseball stadiums in February or March, and this February, the series is coming to Colorado Springs. The game is set to pit the Colorado Avalanche against the Los Angeles Kings at the U.S. Air Force Academy’s Falcon Stadium, making the February 15th game the second Stadium Series hosted by a military academy. The Colorado Avalanche hosted the series once before at Coors Field and lost out to the visiting Detroit Red Wings. But this year, spirits are high and the team is looking forward to a snowy game.
